First I guess a little history on my Z. Back in August of last year the car started running very poorly. I, being fairly new to working on my Z's (although i've been reading about them for years now), thought I had diagnosed the problem correctly, and that I needed new injectors (had original, pintle, old style injectors). I pulled the coilpacks to each cylinder and thought that I narrowed the problem down to two cylinders with bad injectors. So I went ahead and waited til Christmas and purchased new fuel injectors, rails, FPR, dampener, hoses, etc.. and planned to attempt my first plenum pull. Well, I ran into a snag along the way. So, I decided to let Z1 finish the job for me. I told them that I needed them to finish installing my fuel parts for me and they said no problem. *FORTUNATELY* John, decided to do a compression test before beginning the install and found that my car had two dead cylinders! I would have been out several hundred dollars of labor if Z1 had just installed the parts the way I originally ask, but they went a little farther and compression tested for me just in case. I was very thankful for that, but, at the same time, I was a little bummed given the bad news. I went ahead and pulled the trigger and decided to go with a JDM engine and some extras to go along with it. So on to present day, and I just got my Z back yesterday. Z1 installed a low-mile JDM engine, Sport 500s, downpipes, catback, clutch and flywheel, injectors and rails and other components I couldn't finish, Blitz boost controller, intercoolers, etc.. and MAN, this thing hauls @ss now! I'd like to comment on the excellent service and communication I received during the last six weeks. John kept me up to date on the progress of the car, and everything runs perfectly now. They did a great job cleaning the engine bay up for me, tuning and dynoing, and getting everything ready to go in general. They were friendly and honest. All in all, I couldn't be happier with my Z... here's my dyno graph. 390 rwhp and 416 torque with the stock cats still on (at 17.5 psi). In the future, I plan on going MSP mani's, dual intake, and testpipes in hopes of hitting 430 to 440 to the wheels.
Now, I need better brakes! :-)
